My interest in code and technology started at an early age, so studying Communication & Multimedia Design/Informatics at HAN University of Applied Sciences was a natural choice. There, I explored different forms of programming: from games and complex databases to websites and applications built with C# and PHP. Whenever I came across a challenge, I wanted to understand how it worked — and how it could be done better.

After my internship, I joined a digital agency as a web developer and application manager. Over the next seven years, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience while developing my own way of working. Structure, simplicity, creativity and speed became increasingly important. Not just looking at what needs to be built, but also why, how it can be done smarter and what is really needed. I wanted to put that approach into practice in my own way. And so, in January 2020, Webathletes was born.

Today, I help businesses and creative agencies with everything that goes on behind and around a great website or application. From WordPress and custom development to hosting, API integrations, AI integrations, optimisation and management. I also develop my own solutions, such as wpMula, my plugin for multilingual WordPress websites. Sometimes from the very first line of code, sometimes by plugging in halfway through when extra expertise or capacity is needed.

And that’s still what I enjoy most about my work: every challenge is different. Every day, I get to work with great brands, smart entrepreneurs and experienced professionals on solutions that simply need to work. From start to finish, or just for that one piece of the puzzle where my expertise is needed.
